I’m having this error too. I created a new laravel project (laravel create online-store), then I ran php vendor/bin/homestead/make, then vagrant up. Then I just get this error 🙁
Well I solved it. It was a problem with the vagrant box version. I downgraded and it works fine

If you are on Linux, look at rsync. It’ll allow you to take incremental backup
