Why would anyone fork it for bootstrap?

Or sass over less for that matter
GistOf 2021-01-09 20:58:04
I don’t use Bootstrap because “it’s the best”

I like axios
hypernxf 2021-01-09 20:58:43
Sure but that’s also opinionated 🙂

Yes, but it’s not part of anything of importance that you get with scaffolding

hypernxf 2021-01-09 20:59:51
It’s embedded in app.js
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:00:09
I’ll say that’s as much a scaffolding as any others. But that’s not my point
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:02:00
My point is Taylor just gotta make a decision and there’s bound to be a level of biases in his decision making. Probably because he’s catering to the majority masses.

Lol I don’t see anything wrong with wanting bootstrap. Just like how laravel encourage everyone to use axios instead of jQuery

You are right we are not seeing you anything wrong wanting bootstrap
We’re just saying if you like bootstrap you can only share/advice others
You just can’t say others to use only bootstrap
Everyone has their own favourites and comfort zones right

You can choose to not use it without rewriting much. That’s what I mean. It’s not as time consuming as changing Tailwind view files into Bootstrap ones

Ok fair enough

hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:03:47
If you are using jet stream or whatever new toys laravel have
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:03:58
I understand it’s difficult for someone who prefer bootstrap

And we should give him feedback when he makes decisions for us

hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:04:22
But you can imagine the amount of work they need to put in if they have to create a jet stream for both bootstrap and tailwind
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:04:54
Yeah he made an executive decision base on the masses. Definitely brings inconvenience to the minority
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:05:29
I’m sure if there are enough people who request for bootstrap, Taylor would reconsider
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:05:40
Much like /models directory lol

Which is why there should be an option for each of the two CSS frameworks when scaffolding

Exactly!

I don’t understand whats all the fuss over this. Tailwind/Bootstrap or anything else is swappable. Jetstream has bootstrap alternative as the backend logic is decoupled. If anything is not FIXED then why be so disappointed
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:07:39
I’m sure it’s not an easy decision for Taylor to make. Considering bootstrap have been around for a long time

I beg to differ. The majority was and probably still is using Bootstrap. He made the decision not for the majority. He thought Tailwind is the future and decided to be an early adopter

Sure I won’t argue that. But I’m also sure it’s not without basis

and whats so bad about it?

hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:10:38
It’s much like Apple taking away the jack port haha 😂
hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:11:03
It sux but everyone just have to adapt lol

People will not do that because anyone who tries to say Bootstrap is needed get told to fork Laravel by some sheep who think Taylor should never be corrected

Sure but that’s only if one or two requests for it

hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:11:58
If a lot of people do it, that would change the entire story
nazmulpcc 2021-01-09 21:12:07
Laravel is a backend framework. Why would anyone fork it for bootstrap?!

You don’t know what you’re talking about. You admit that you don’t understand. Now sit by the sidelines and let those who understand have a discussion

hypernxf 2021-01-09 21:13:20
Anyway time to sleep. I don’t like to have a convo with a lot of interferences.
