Hello everyone. I am working on a Laravel project written in 4.2 and I am facing a problem where the application is not detecting the .env file or the .env.local.php file. I need to run the application in the local environment but by default, it runs in the production environment. is there a command I could run for the application to detect both files so that my start.php file can read the ‘APP_ENV’ value from any of these files.

have you tried editing the .env file itself rather than the .env.local.php?
try that and make sure to generate a new key for your application.

then check the environment again
