Hello, I have MySQL database and I want to encrypt a specific column in a table and dump the table data with encrypted column to SQL SERVER database. I tried it with AES_ENCRYPT, it does encrypts the column values but it can’t decrypt the original value by AES_DECRYPT. It shows ” AES_DECRYPT is not a built-in function” message.
Can anyone please help me in this?

hi, does sql server support AES encryption/decryption?

smlkw 2020-02-08 17:33:57
MySQL has this support https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/encryption-functions.html

Then you need to perform encryption operations on the application’s side

I don’t know but you can do this by a script for example

What exactly do you want to encrypt? Data ? Or want a secure connection?

Why would you want it? Anyways if you want it, you can’t do it automatically using auto_increment. Perhaps you can query in such a way that it groups result set this way
