I try to connect to mySQL with user/pass using environemnt variable like this – >“` MYSQL_PWD=”$MYSQL_PASSWORD” mysql –host=“` but when I run this the password is displayed on the screen/output

you forgot to export env variable, i.e. “export MYSQL_PWD=foo; mysql …..”. this can be useful you try to connect to remote server. if you do smth on a local server then create a file ~/.my.cnf with access credentials

is it the right syntax for adding a column named ‘added’ and type integer and default value 0 ?

Hi Experts , I am trying to do a incremental load from Mysql to Snowflake using AWS Glue , and I am able to do the initial load into the snowflake table , but finding it hard to implement incremental load ( Insert , update , deleted rows ) CDC in the data flow
Ram12333 2021-12-16 16:52:04
After reading mutiple blogs and forums , I believe using Binary log from mysql is the best way to Implement CDC
Ram12333 2021-12-16 16:53:19
Do anyone here have any idea to implement CDC using binlog or binarylog

Is there any open source tools or a sql query to fetch the INSERT , UPDATE , DELETE Information from the log file or event

if you do not mind to have kafka in between of mysql/glue you can consume data using kafka connect/debizium (not sure if they can write into glue). if you do not want to have kafka then you should implement your own cdc tool

Ram12333 2021-12-16 19:21:51
Thank you Svart , I will do my analysis on Kafka and if it is helpful will let you know ! 😊

Hi, guys. I’ve recently noticed that same queries to mysql made from Php are being executed faster on average ~30÷ faster than in .net core5.0 This was completely opposite to what I’ve expected. Is there any conceptual barrier that would explain it?

This is the question related to those programming languages and not to the mysql.

Also I think it is depending on implementation
