How can I connect to different database based on user

For suppose user A is logged in I need to connect to db1

If user B is logged in I need to connect to db2

The logic I am using is storing logins separate DB along with database ID of particular user like

USER-1 PASSWORD DATABASEID

USER-2 PASSWORD DATABASEID

and adding this database-ID to session variable and using this session variable in connection.php file to connect and return

Does this logic works if not please suggest some

yeah will work, store the user database he owns and connect to it.
