You could use a single time zone for everyone, since its timer, it doesnt really matter what time it is for different users, rather it matters how many hours is left for each user.

You just tell them all your platform is working with GMT so maybe if you have a particular time to start off something they can follow up.

But in a situation as this example where users have each 24hours to upgrade their account to premium, the counter should start immediately a user registers, irrespective of his timezone. 24hours will always be 24hours no matter where you are.

But if it’s 24 hours then it’s left according to time zone in which user is there

No, it wont be based on timezone.

Do you have any script or can you please suggest ?

For instance we are told there will be a giveaway in this group 5 hours from now, it doesnt matter what your timezone is, 5hours from now is 5hours, not a particular time in future, but a particular duration.

It’s kinda abstract a little, but think it.

taylor007 2020-05-02 23:09:56
Except you could simply convert time for each user depending on where he is
taylor007 2020-05-02 23:10:18
When you set your time, your system converts it to local time for each user.

Their are many date and time libraries out side capture user input and build up a clock in and clock out functionality where your users can login with same time and logout

U can redirect users basing on there ip addresses and you get their current time zone better u fetch date and time from users ip address and computer time

Okay, we setup server time as standard time and which should not be affected with our system time

If you are going to feature a date and time for end of maybe a task to be done, then maybe you have to track each users time from their ip address and have the time show in their local time.

But if it’s just about a timer case, then there would be no need for all that, just use a central time, which will show hours left to users instead of date.

Some platforms will say we have from now till 8pm GMT. Its left for users to know when 8pm is in their local time, but if you could convert it for them, then cool.

For one user it’s showing 23 : 59 : 30 and other user showing 06 : 30 : 10 when both user start at same time and our server time is according to UK time zone and if I change system time then time Remaining show different

https://www.simonholywell.com/post/2013/12/convert-utc-to-local-time/

Check that link.

Before you do that given in the link, you will have to fetch each users local timezone from their computer or ip address, then use that library to convert your own time to their time and show to each user.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/743505/how-to-get-time-zone-through-ip-address-in-php

But using IP address would be efficient, cause ip addresses were not made for that and also it’s not reliable as one could use VPN or tor browser. So maybe you try this
